Students registered with the Disability Resource Center (DRC) can request access to the Library West Accessibility Studio online. Once DRC students have been granted swipe-card access, the studio is available to them on a first-come, first served basis during the open hours of Library West.
The Accessibility Studio, located on the 3rd floor of Library West, hosts a diverse set of resources to improve accessibility to library materials:
- Assistive Technologies
- Kurzweil 3000 Screen Reader, a reading, writing and study platform designed for people with learning disabilities
- JAWS, a computer screen reading program that allows individuals to read text on a computer monitor using keyboard commands
- Default Windows Magnifier Tool, a computer tool for the magnification of the computer screen and anything displayed there
- A computer with an adjustable monitor and UF computer lab software – headphones are required to listen to audio. Students will need to bring a pair of headphones with an AUX connection or borrow a pair from the Circulation Desk to do so.
- Large display screen
- AirMedia to project their personal device
- Trackball mouse
- BigKeys keyboard
- Dry erase board
- Private space
